This was in a rather nondescript village and the hotel wasn't particularly promising from the outside but when we walked in I was completely taken aback by the crazy interior.
I love how the French go for these massive murals, though they are increasingly hard to find as they really went out of fashion in the 80s. In a way murals take the place of the large scale tapestries traditional in French chateaux, back in 'l'epoque'. I've posted another one French 1970s Hotel Mural
I really loved the richness of the interior - I wish people thought of designing public spaces like this more often.Anyway, on my next trip to France, always the chance of coming across another crazy space!
